Franklin Edward Woods, 73, of 181 Augusta Springs Road, Augusta Springs, Virginia, passed away on Tuesday, November 26, 2013 at his residence.
He was born December 15, 1940 in Augusta County, the son of the late Clarence E. Woods and Gay Nell McCutchen Woods.
He was retired from the Still Water Worster Mills. He was a veteran of the United States Army.
He was a great friend to all; a loving father and grandfather; and an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He is survived by five sons, Mark Woods and Bruce Woods, both of Beckley, West Virginia, Danny Fridley of West Augusta, Virginia, Ira Fridley, Jr. of Augusta Springs and Wayne Ingram of Millboro, Virginia; two daughters, Lisa Tuttor of Covington, Virginia and Linda Haney of Craigsville, Virginia; three brothers, Lester Woods of Goshen, Virginia, Clarence Woods of Staunton, Virginia and Roger Woods of Waynesboro, Virginia; three step-brothers, Carl J. “Sonny” Balser of Stoney Creek, Virginia, Larry A. Balser of West Augusta, and Wilbert “Winky” Balser of West View, Virginia; two step-sisters, Betty Harris of Churchville, Virginia and Judy Peters of Staunton; 18 grandchildren; and 2 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Oscar Woods; 2 brothers; 1 Sister and a grandson.
A graveside funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 3, at the Craigsville Community Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at Craigsville Funeral Home.
