Darlene Faye Eberwien, 67, of 70 Stillwater Lane, Craigsville, Virginia, 24430 died Saturday, November 30, 2013 at her residence.
She was born July 3, 1946 in Craigsville, Virginia, the daughter of the late Clayborn Harding Woods and Elizabeth Bell Benson Woods. She was married to David Earl Eberwien whom she married on December 14, 2002.
Mrs. Eberwien worked at Augusta Springs Stillwater for over 20 years. She loved to play bingo, get her hair done, shop, gossip, work puzzle books and jigsaw puzzles, hunt mushrooms and spend time with her family. She enjoyed traveling to Las Vegas and Branson, Missouri. She loved to provide for her family as much as she could.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by three children, Marian Sarmiento & husband Alex of Timberville, Virginia, Joy Morris & husband Troy of Augusta Springs, Virginia and Terry Miller & fiancé Angie Snow of Craigsville, seven grandchildren, Christopher Miller to whom she helped raise and considered her own and his wife Carrie, Heather Macbeth & fiancée Dougie, Sophia Miller & fiancée Cody, Hunter & Autumn Miller, Alex Sarmiento and Jeffery Miller & wife Felicia; six great grandchildren, Trenton & Kalyn Miller, Bryley Miller, Christian & Jaxsen Macbeth, Gavin Dively; a brother, Clayborn “Shine” Woods of Craigsville; two sisters, Shirley Woods of Craigsville and Barbara Spradlin & husband Johnny of Craigsville; 2 Step Children, Timothy Eberwien & wife Alice of Nellysford, Virginia, Bryant Eberwien & wife Charlee of Mosely, Virginia; six step grandchildren, Dakota Snow, Ashton Temple, Emma & Cameron Eberwien, Nicholas & Andrew Eberwien; a special friend, Delores “Sug” Minter; several nieces and nephews; and her beloved dog, “Peanut”.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Melvin Miller; a son, Curtis Wayne “Sam” Miller; two sisters, Peggy Deloach and Judy Burke; and a brother, Richard Woods.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 4, 2013, at the Craigsville Presbyterian Church with Pastor Terry Adkins. Interment will be in Craigsville Community Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Mr. Byrams, Timothy Eberwien, Cameron Eberwien, Bryant Eberwien, Matthew Woods and Tommy Deloach.
The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Craigsville Funeral Home.
