Betty Jean Ingram Petty, 82, of Staunton, Virginia died Thursday, December 6, 2018 at Augusta Health in Fishersville.

She was born July 13, 1936 in Bath County, Virginia, the daughter of the late Andrew Preston Ingram and Pauline Woodrow Smith Ingram Longmire.

Betty was formerly employed at General Electric.

She is survived by her son, Roger Lee Petty of Staunton; brothers, Hampton Ingram  of Salem, Donald Ingram of Goshen; sisters, Charlotte Minter of Goshen, Marian Ferguson of Staunton, Sheila Vass of Staunton; numerous nieces and nephews, and 2 special nieces, Terri “Pumpkin” Alderson and Donna Darlene Walton.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Russell Matthew Petty and 4 sisters, Margaret Sours, Hilda Montgomery, Mae Lyle, and Ruth Byram.

A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Monday, December 10, 2018 at Craigsville Funeral Home with Dr. Steve Traylor officiating. Interment will be in Lebanon Presbyterian Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Craigsville Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Donald Minter, Harry Vass, Donald Ingram, Kevin Walton, Ralph Minter, Jr., Jeff Byram, Richard Byram, and Bradley Minter.
