Phyllis June Sprouse

PhyllisPhyllis June Jordan Sprouse, 73, of Waynesboro, Virginia died Tuesday, July 24, 2018 at Roanoke Memorial Hospital.

She was born July 15, 1945 in Augusta Springs, Virginia, the daughter of the late Hugh Jordan and Ruby Ann Woods Jordan.

Phyllis was a lifelong homemaker and a member of Craigsville Presbyterian Church, who love listening to Elvis and Brad Paisley, reading, laughing, and watching Days of Our Lives.

She is survived by her children, Lisa Faye Shifflett and husband Robert of Sumter, South Carolina, Lori Ann Sprouse and husband Randy McCutcheon of Deerfield, Virginia;  grandchildren, Kelly Bottenfield, Hope Snyder, Carrie Rutledge, Tiffany Bottenfield, Bradley Snyder; 5 great grandchildren; sisters, Maxine Gordan and husband Robert of Fort Defiance, Michelle Downs and husband Steve of Grottoes; numerous nieces and nephews; special friends, Richard Fox and Martha Loraine Forbes; and her special pets, JJ, Snuggles, and Snoopy.

Phyllis was preceded in death by her husband, Johnny Wayne Sprouse; son, Johnny Sprouse, Jr.; daughter, Tina Fisher; sister, Thelma Fix; and brother, Charles Jordan.

A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 28, 2018 at Craigsville Presbyterian Church with Rev. Olivia Haney officiating. Interment will be in Craigsville Community Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Danny Bottenfield, Roy Sherwood, Tony Epps, Robert Oscar, Donald Forbes, and Christopher Bottenfield.

The family will receive friends immediately after the service at the church.

    My grandma was loving n caring n she loved her family n friends she was a kind person who would take her shirt off her back to help someone in need n no matter what happened in life she always had a smile on her face n she never gave up she kept going she was a strong person i have ever known im really going to miss her very much n i love her dearly she will always be in my heart n the memories we had together will always be with me fly high grandma until we meet again i love u grandma so much there not a day goes by i don’t think of u i know your in heaven looking down at always hopey
