Blake Alexander Scott Burke, 29, of Craigsville, Virginia died Monday, July 2, 2018 at Verona, Virginia.
He was born May 21, 1989 in Staunton, Virginia, the son of Scottie Theodore Burke and Roxanna Marie Fridley Burke.
Blake was employed as a skidder operator for Valley Logging Sales, as well as a part owner of Burke Family Logging Business.
Blake was an excellent drummer who loved music. He enjoyed science, nature, and animals, especially his pets, including his dogs Zuel and Adalay, his cat Pantera, and his reptiles. He loved his mom’s home canned foods, and always stocked up his kitchen when he came to visit. Blake was always ready with his humor and jokes to make someone smile, and he was very well loved.
He is survived by his parents; brothers, Matthew Burke and wife Amanda, Michael Burke; twin sister, Holly Strickler and husband BJ; nieces and nephews, Owen, Aidan, Adrienne, and Nolan Strickler, Andrew and Madison Burke; and a special cousin, Elizabeth Rexrode.
Blake was preceded in death by his grandparents, John and Marie Fridley, Robert and Elizabeth Burke; and his uncle, JD Fridley.
A memorial service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, July 8, 2018 at Joyful Sound Church with Pastor Mike Herring and Chuck Litzenberg officiating.
The family will receive friends after the service at the church or at other times at his parents’ home.

Scottie, Roxie and all of the Burke and Fridley family, I just wanted to say how sorry the Bosserman family is for your loss. It is so hard to believe another young life has ended so suddenly on this earth. Our hearts are broken. Our thoughts, prayers, and love are with each of you.
I will also remember his constant smile and joking. Blake will be missed and keeping his family in our thoughts & prayers
