Ruth McCutcheon Colvin, 91, of Augusta Springs, Virginia died Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at Augusta Nursing and Rehab Center.
She was born November 5, 1926 in Augusta County, the daughter of the late James William McCutcheon and Nellie Grey Sprouse McCutcheon. She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years James David Colvin. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Ruth worked at several local sewing factories throughout the area during her life.
She was a member of Miller Memorial Baptist Church and a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who loved spending time with her family and friends. She also enjoyed cooking and was always helping others.
Ruth is survived by her daughter: Lisa McCray and husband Earl of Craigsville; her grandchildren: Christopher James Gum of Fargo, North Dakota, Dana McCray Shomo & husband Hunter of Augusta Springs; numerous nieces and nephews; including two special nephews, Tucker McCutcheon and Shannon Crawford. The family wishes to extend special thanks to the staff of Augusta Nursing and Rehab Center for their care these past few years.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, February 25, 2018 at Craigsville Funeral Home with Pastor Scott Reese officiating. Interment will be in Miller Memorial Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Shannon Crawford, Steve Smiley, Sr., Earl McCray Sr., Rick Fridley, Steve Smiley, Jr., Ronnie McCutcheon, and John Smith.
The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 p.m. Saturday, February 24, 2018 at Craigsville Funeral Home and at other times at the home of Lisa and Earl McCray.
