Thomas Alfred Strickler, Sr., 73, of Goshen, Virginia died Sunday, December 31, 2017 at his home.
He was born August 24, 1944 in Rockbridge County, the son of the late Luther Wesley Strickler and Dolly May Strickler.
Thomas was a retired handyman for Daniels Motor Company.
He was a loving father, grandfather, and great grandfather, who loved cutting wood, lawnmowers, and chainsaws.
Thomas is survived by his wife, Gloria Lee Strickler; son, Thomas Strickler, Jr. and wife Carolyn; grandchildren, Paul Strickler, Martha Burke and fiancé Daniel Simons; great grandchildren, Hayley, Tommy, Kali, and special great granddaughter, Harper; sisters, Martha Campbell, Nellie Stevenson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Earl Strickler, Sr., and three sisters, Peggy Sprouse, May Overcash, and Jane Echard.
A graveside funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Thursday January 4, 2018 at Oaklawn Memory Gardens with Pastor Mike Herring officiating.
Pallbearers will be Johnny Campbell, Daniel Simons, Preston Sprouse, Chris Gordon, Timmy Sprouse, and Emmett Campbell.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, January 3, 2018 from 6 to 7 p.m. at Craigsville Funeral Home.
