Charlotte “Sissy” Diane Minter, 56, of Staunton died Thursday, August 17, 2017 at her home.
She was born February 17, 1961 in Staunton, Virginia, the daughter of Charlotte Christine Ingram Minter and the late Ralph Lee Minter, Sr.
Sissy was formerly employed as a correctional officer at Augusta Correctional Facility.
She was a member of Lebanon Presbyterian Church. She was a loving mother and grandmother, who enjoyed riding horses with her sons and doing anything in the outdoors.
Sissy is survived by her children: David Gutshall and girlfriend Lesley of Staunton, Waylon Gutshall and girlfriend Daphne of Craigsville, Nickie Armstrong and husband Bobby of Staunton; grandchildren: Dwayne, Kirsten, Tristan, Cody, Makaya, Logan, Brayden; brothers: Donald Minter and wife Julie of Goshen, Ralph Minter, Jr. and wife Melinda of Staunton; sister: Donna Walton and husband Kevin of Craigsville; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins; and a special pet, her dog Little Girl.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, niece, and nephews.
A funeral service will be conducted at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, August 20, 2017 at Little River Church of the Brethren with Pastor Rob Via officiating. Interment will be in Lebanon Presbyterian Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Edger Campbell, Jerry McLain, Donnie Colvin, Kevin Walton, Bobby Armstrong, Basil Karr, and Jeremy Maddox
The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the church, or at Nickie’s home at other times.
Memorial contributions may be made to Craigsville Funeral Home in lieu of flowers.
