Leo Alexander Shiflet, Jr.

Leo Alexander Shiflett, Jr., 72, of 207 Lee High Road, Craigsville, Virginia died Thursday, July 27, 2017 at his residence.
He was born September 14, 1944 in Fordwick, Virginia, the son of the late Leo Alexander Shiflett, Sr. and Laura Jane Sprouse Shiflett.
Mr. Shiflett was retired from the United States Army.
Leo was a great dad who loved his family and helping people. He enjoyed collecting junk and recyclables.
He is survived by his children, Willie Gene Shiflett of Craigsville and Leo A. Shiflett III of Jacksonville, Florida; grandchildren, Catrina Kresky and Amber Shiflett; brothers, Larry Shiflett & wife Kay and Wayne Shiflett all of Harrisonburg, Virginia, James Shiflett of Verona, Virginia, Johnny Shiflett and Eddie Shiflett & wife Patsy all of Greenville, Virginia; sisters, Shirley Shiflett of Goshen, Virginia, Diana Shiflett of Verona, Mary Shiflett of Greenville; Step-mother, Donnie Shiflett of Greenville; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by a grandson, Daniel Shiflett.
A funeral service will be conducted at 7:00 p.m., Thursday, August 3, 2017 at Craigsville Funeral Home with Pastor Rob Via officiating. Interment will be in Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
The family will receive friends immediately following the services at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Wounded Warriors or Disabled Veterans of Virginia.
