Earl Roscoe Armentrout, Jr., 89, of Craigsville, Virginia died Thursday, December 8, 2016 at his home.
He was born July 12, 1927 in Allegheny County, the son of the late Earl Roscoe Armentrout, Sr. and Missouri “Marie” Frances Carper Armentrout.
Earl was a retired lab technician for Cooper Industries, and also worked for Lehigh Portland Cement Company for 18 years and the C&O Railroad for 7 years.
He was a veteran of the US Air Force as an aircraft engine mechanic, having served in WW II.
Earl was previously a deacon of the Craigsville Presbyterian Church and a loving father.
He is survived by his daughter: Maria Callaway and husband George of Crozet; step-grandson: Greg Callaway of Charlottesville; girlfriend: Betty Martin of Craigsville, and her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren who were all very special to him.
Earl was preceded in death by his wife, Juanita Armentrout and an infant daughter.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Monday, December 12, 2016 at Craigsville Funeral Home with Pastor Gwen Carr officiating. Interment will be in Craigsville Community Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Verlyn Martin, William Lee Wilcher, Wilson Ramsey, Richard Fox, and Wayne Martin.
The family will receive friends from 6 – 7 p.m. December 11, 2016 at Craigsville Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Shenandoah Valley or Craigsville Fire and Rescue Company in lieu of flowers.
