Amanda Marie Benson

mandy1     Amanda Marie McLain Benson, 59, of Craigsville, Virginia died Wednesday, November 9, 2016 at Roanoke Memorial Hospital.

She was born December 27, 1956 in Alexandria, Virginia, the daughter of the late Joseph Alexander McLain and Salley Louella Lumsden McLain.

Mandy was employed as a banker at Woodforest National Bank.

She loved her family, music, and tending to her flowers.

Mandy is survived by her husband, Henry W. “Bob” Benson of Craigsville; children: Alex Rankin & wife Jessica of Craigsville, Kevin Benson of Staunton; grandchildren: Evelynn & Gabrielle Rankin; step-grandson: Nathan Shiley; brother: Joseph “Joey” McLain & wife Susan; niece: Joley McLain; and brother-in-law: Fred Benson.

A funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, November 13, 2016 at Craigsville Funeral Home with Rev. Bill Gram officiating. Interment will be in Craigsville Community Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Douglas Leggett, Corey Leggett, Dakota Leggett, and Jarred Kincaid

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Craigsville Rescue Squad.

    Joe, Susan and family of Mandy, what a shock! My thoughts and prayers are with you all. I pray that God places his healing hands upon your broken hearts and comforts you in your time of need. I just talked to Mandy a few weeks ago she was telling me all about her grand babies. She was a very proud grandma. I will miss seeing her at the bank it won’t be the same. Such a sweet person, GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
