Earl Stone Rowe

Earl Stone Rowe, 81, of Craigsville, Virginia died Wednesday, July 6, 2016 at Augusta Health.

He was born September 1, 1934 in Craigsville, the son of the late Henry Edgar Rowe and Bertha Mae Reed Rowe.

Earl was employed as a weaver at Stillwater.

He was a member of Estaline Valley Church of the Nazarene.  He loved hunting, Nascar, taking vacations, and going to yard sales.

Earl is survived by his wife, Doris Jean Ludwig Rowe; children: Earl “Peanut” Rowe & wife Tammy of Jennings Gap, David “Crockett” Rowe & wife Doris of Craigsville, Henry Rowe of Craigsville, Mike Rowe & wife Kelly of Craigsville, Teresa Rowe of Staunton,

George Rowe & wife Yvonne of Staunton, Martha Sanchez & husband Lee of Waynesboro;  19 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren and many others who knew him as pawpaw; brother; Roosevelt Rowe & wife Mary Anna of Verona; sister; Bertha Berry & husband Bill of Staunton; numerous nieces and nephews, and a special great nephew Roger Lee Rowe, Jr.

He was preceded in death by his brothers: Odell, Oney Lewis, Solomon, Randolph Robert, and John Rowe; and his sisters: Mary Margaret Rowe, Gladys Michaels, Elizabeth Varner, and Helen Cash.

A funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, July 10, 2016 at Estaline Valley Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Billy Curry officiating. Interment will be in Lebanon Presbyterian Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Bill Rowe, Larry Byram, Shane Lilly, Tommy Humphries, Matt Stickley, and Fred Sprouse, Jr.

The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 pm the night before at Craigsville Funeral Home and at the old home place on Henry Rowe Ln at any other time.

Memorial contributions may be made to Estaline Valley Church of the Nazarene.
