Herman Ford Coppage

Herman Ford Coppage, 97, of Goshen, Virginia, formerly of Germanton, North Carolina, died Saturday, March 05, 2016 at Augusta Health.

He was born February 25, 1919 in Stafford County, Virginia, the son of the late Malcolm Stonewall Coppage and Annie Edith Oliver Coppage.

Herman was retired from the Forsythe County School System in North Carolina where he worked for 50 years.  He was a great farmer and gardener, entering his pumpkins in the North Carolina State Fair and taking 2nd place.

He is survived by his sister; Burnell Wood of Goshen, Virginia; several nieces and nephews; and a special friend Dale Bagrus.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Helen Coppage, on October 25, 1998.

A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday March 8, 2016 at Little River Church of the Brethren Cemetery with Rev. Charlie Wood, Jr. officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice of the Shenandoah Valley, 64 Sports Medicine Drive, Fishersville, VA  22939.
