Margaret Dinkle Parker, 96, of Staunton, Virginia, formerly of Craigsville, Virginia, went to be with the Lord on Monday, November 16, 2015 at Brightview Baldwin Park of Staunton.
She was born July 18, 1919 in Augusta County, the daughter of the late Calvin Brown and Rachel Beard Dinkle.
Margaret was a retired switch board operator at Western State Hospital.
She was a lifetime member of the Craigsville Southern Baptist Church.
Margaret is survived by her step-son: Edward “Eddie” McCutcheon Parker and wife Michelle of Craigsville; step-grandchildren: Blaze and Storm Parker; and her nieces and nephews: Janet D. Kirkland of Staunton, Fred E. Dinkle of Staunton, Alice Redifer of Parnassus, Calvin E. Dinkle of Craigsville, and Donald N. Dinkle of Stuarts Draft.
She was preceded in death by her husband Edward L. Parker, her two brothers, James and Frank Dinkle, and her niece Margaret “Peggy” D. Ruleman.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Friday November 20, 2015 at Craigsville Southern Baptist Church with Pastor Tom Quick officiating. Interment will be in Craigsville Community Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Stacey Redifer, Shawn Redifer, Richard Kirkland, Jeff Dinkle, Tim Jackson, Calvin Dinkle, Fred Dinkle, Donald Dinkle
The family will receive friends from 6 – 7 p.m. Thursday, November 19, 2015 at Craigsville Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Craigsville Southern Baptist Church in lieu of flowers.
