Allen Brooks Moore

Augusta— Allen Brooks Moore, 60, of Staunton, Virginia died July 4, 2015 at Shenandoah House, Fishersville, VA.

He was born January 3, 1955 in Richmond, the son of the late Frank Shaw Moore and Pauline Esther VanLandingham Moore.

Brooks was self-employed as the owner of ABM Bathroom Refinishing, and previously spent 23 years farming Shaw Moore Ranch.

He was a former member of Goshen Baptist Church and a current member of Calvary Baptist Church. He was a loving husband and father who enjoyed golf and basketball, and he coached the Augusta Recreation basketball team. Brooks was an Eagle Scout who went on to be the Goshen Scout Leader. He was also very well respected by his work community.

Brooks is survived by his wife, Stephanie Lynn Loan Moore of Staunton; 3 children: James Moore & fiancé Stephanie Dunn of Fishersville, Emily Rudin & husband Scottie of Staunton, Jennifer Moore of Staunton; 4 grandchildren: Skyler Moore, Oakley Truxell, Gabrielle Rudin, Brycen Moore; and sister; Monnie Armsworthy & husband Sydney of Reedville, VA.

He was preceded in death by infant daughter Hillary Dawn Moore.

A graveside service will be held for family and close friends on July 5, 2015 at Goshen Baptist Cemetery at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend John Haney officiating. A celebration of life will be held at Brooks’ home on August 1st, 2015 from 12:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Shenandoah Foundation in lieu of flowers.
