Lula Bessie Sprouse Weaver

WeaverLula Bessie Sprouse Weaver, 94, of Craigsville, Virginia died Thursday, March 05, 2015 at her residence.

She was born December 4, 1920 in Estaline Valley, Virginia, the daughter of the late William Darwin “Buck” Sprouse and Edna Miller Sprouse.

She retired from Western State Hospital as a nurses aide.

Mrs. Weaver loved flowers. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother.

She was married to the late Wilson Stewart Weaver who preceded her in death on January 24, 1992.

She is survived by 6 children, Stewart D. Weaver of Craigsville, Louise Wootson of Goshen, Virginia, Daris Spradlin of Craigsville, Judy Morris & husband Monte of Craigsville, Ellen Back of Churchville, Virginia and Diane Flesher of Waynesboro, Virginia; 17 grandchildren; 39 great grandchildren; 21 great great grandchildren; two sisters, Nancy Wiseman of Churchville and Dolly Balser & husband Odell of Craigsville.

She was preceded in death by a daughter Bernice Adkins, 3 grandsons, Jeffery “Mutt” Morris, Gary Hinkle and Michael Spradlin; 4 brothers, Avery, Russell, Richard and Albert Sprouse; 2 sisters, Patsy Singleton and Beulah Cale; and 6 sons-in-law, Aaron Wootson, Jr., Russell Spradlin, Joe Thomas Back, Harry Adkins, Steve Thompson and John Flesher.

A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Monday, March 9, 2015 at Craigsville Funeral Home with Reverend Olivia Haney officiating. Interment will be in Estaline Valley Presbyterian Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be William Craig, Ralph Mawyer, Ryan Back, Barry Spradlin, Bobby Morris, Roy Thompson. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Grandchildren & Great Grandchildren

The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6:00 – 7:30 at Craigsville Funeral Home or anytime at the home on 28 Weaverhill Lane.
