Lindy Gene Lockwood

Rev. Lindy Gene Lockwood, 85, of 1310 South Braddock Street, Winchester, VA was welcomed home by the Savior to His eternal reward on April 26, 2014 at his home. He was born May 8, 1928 in Chattanooga, TN to Fred and Nellie Lockwood.
He and his wife, Patsy Combs Stone, were married on April 27, 1972.
Lin was a minister of the Gospel for 65 years, building and pastoring churches and evangelizing nationwide in Tent Crusades and Revivals. For many years he broadcast the Gospel through a television and satellite ministry, REVIVAL FOR AMERICA. In 1978, he and his wife, Pat, established the Joyful Sound Church in Augusta Springs. For the past 9 years he was the Pastor of the Calvary Pentecostal Church of God in Winchester.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Glen, Wayne, and Al Lockwood, one sister, Melcena Searfoss.
In addition to his wife he is survived by three sons, David (Ginny), James Joel (Anne), and Lindy G, Jr., five daughters, Loretta (Freddie) Montgomery, Ruth Lockwood, Tammie (Michael) Herring, Tina (Kevin) Persinger, Rebecca (William) Tittle.
He is also survived by three brothers, Ken (Frankie), Donald, Sr., Paul (Becky) Lockwood, and three sisters Dorothy Eison, Barbara (Wayne) Palframan, Ellen (Bob) Lahiere, a brother-in-law, Wayne Searfoss, sister-in-law Shirley Lockwood and numerous nieces and nephews.
Grandchildren: Brandy Hicks, Dustin Lockwood, Darcie Bryant, Nathan Hunt, Tasha Garner, Sarah and Anna Herring, Jordyn and Austin Lockwood, Marta Persinger, Daniel and Michael Tittle, Christina Peters, Joshua and Bethany Lockwood and 11 Great-Grandchildren.
Visitation will be Tuesday, April 29, 12:00 p.m. at Joyful Sound Church, 45 Joyful Sound Lane, Augusta Springs, VA, followed by a Remembrance of Life service at 2:00 p.m., officiated by Rev. Randall Lawrence.
Burial will be at Miller Memorial Gardens in Augusta Springs, VA. Pallbearers will be, Dr. Richard Miller, Rev. Glenn Young, Rick Stephenson, Chuck Litzenberg, Don Bosserman, Johnny Campbell, Emmett Campbell.
