Roy “Mutt” James Jackson, 70, of Augusta Springs, Virginia died Friday, September 27, 2013 at Augusta Health in Fishersville, Virginia.
He was born September 10, 1943 in Estaline Valley, Virginia, the son of the late Charles W. Jackson and Mary Shifflett Jackson.
Mr. Jackson was a general handyman and laborer. He was formerly employed with Thornrose Cemetery & Oak Lawn. He enjoyed his family and friends and loved riding his bike. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting & fishing. He loved playing cards.
He is survived by his two brothers; Lewis Jackson of Tennessee & Charles “Eddie” Jackson of Augusta Springs; 2 sisters Martha Forbes & husband Donald of Craigsville and Judith “Judy” Adkins of Augusta Springs.
He was preceded in death by 3 sisters, Bonnie McCutcheon, Nellie Jackson and Betty Lou Jackson.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 1, 2013 at JoyfulSoundChurch in AugustaSprings with Pastor Mike Herring officiating. Interment will be in CraigsvilleCommunityCemetery. Pallbearers will be Fred Stephenson, Anthony Stephenson, Donald Woods, Steven Woods, Franklin Woods and Edward Corbin.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Monday evening at Craigsville Funeral Home.
