Betty Louise “Betty Lou” Huffman

Betty Louise “Betty Lou” Huffman, 65, of  P.O. Box 207, Millboro, Virginia, 24460 went to be with the Lord Friday, September 20, 2013 at her son’s residence in Goshen, Virginia.

She was born September 27, 1947 in Rockbridge County, Virginia, the daughter of the late Roy Lawhorn and Louise Karr. She was married to the late Leo Wilson Huffman who preceded her in death on September 3, 1972.

Mrs. Huffman was retired from Augusta Correctional Center and was formerly employed with Stillwater Mills for many years. She was a member of the Goshen Baptist Church.  She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

She is survived by two sons, Douglas Huffman & friend Wanda Eddy of Goshen and David Huffman & friend Elaine Lunsford of Fairfield, Virginia; two grandchildren, Kelly Marie Huffman and Leo Wilson Huffman both of Goshen;  three brothers, James Lawhorn & wife Sylvia of Goshen, Harrison Lawhorn & wife Jessie of Craigsville, Virginia, Donald Lawhorn & wife Pat of Goshen; three sisters, Mary Bosley of Frederick, Maryland, Bonnie Sue Sampson & husband Gerald of Goshen, Gail Tolley & husband Billy of Goshen; special friend and companion, Emmett “Skeet” Jack of Millboro and his children, Dale Jack of Staunton, Natalie Loan of Millboro, Billie Fragale of Craigsville and Jean McCauley of Middleton, Maryland.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a sister, Thelma Huffman and a brother, Russell Lawhorn.

A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Monday, September 23, 2013 at the Goshen Baptist Church with Pastor Scott Reese. Interment will be in Millboro Christian Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be James Loan, Danny Roberts, Dave Hodge, Alex Clark, Michael Vess, Ray Lunsford and Darrell Vess.

The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Craigsville Funeral Home.
